For coaches · Updated OCT 09, 2026
Your client leaves the session motivated, and somewhere in the next six days they lose their focus. Pausa is a journal that keeps them honest and accountable in between, so they come back having done the work, and you don't have to give up extra hours to make that happen.
When clients feel progress early, they stay.
The good
4.8x
Clients who perceive early progress have 4.8x higher odds of reaching a good outcome (Beard & Delgadillo, 15 studies, 2019).
The bad
3.2 months
But the median coaching client stays 3.2 months (Coachway, n = 5,666, 2026).
The ugly
7.5% a month
Churn peaks between months 3 and 6 at 7.5% a month (Coachway, 2026): after the novelty wears off, and before the results start compounding.
The trap
More hours
The obvious fixes all cost you more hours (a longer programme, extra check-ins, WhatsApp access), which is why they end up at the bottom of your backlog.
Why clients drift between sessions, and what the research says →
Pausa is a simple journaling app that keeps your clients accountable day to day. It gives them weekly insight into their own patterns, and a coach they can bounce anything off that carries their whole history.

01
The journal.
Voice or text, in seconds, in the app or on WhatsApp. It names the pattern and asks the question they're avoiding. No streaks and no congratulations.

02
The weekly recap.
It arrives every week without being asked: what repeated, what shifted, what got avoided. It's the piece your client can forward to you before your next session.

03
The coach.
It draws on CBT and neuroscience principles, it's direct and honest, and it carries the client's entire history, so it remembers what they wrote in March.
01
You focus the session on the important vs. the urgent.
You receive the recap your client forwards: the week summarized, patterns named. The urgent was already handled in the moment, inside Pausa, so the hour opens on what matters instead of catching up.
02
You identify who is fading, while you can still act.
Once at least 5 of your clients are on Pausa, you can request your cohort's activity, numbers only: how many kept reflecting, how many went quiet in week two, months before it shows up as a cancelled renewal. Below 5 clients we don't share it, because a small group could identify a person.
03
You understand why clients like yours drop out.
You receive research from the whole Pausa base and the published science: where the habit dies, what keeps people going, and what that means for your programme. Usage patterns only, never anyone's writing.
Privacy is our core value: it's what keeps people open enough to write honestly. So your client's reflections stay theirs. Pausa never sends you anything about a named client, and a recap reaches you only when they forward it themselves. The true version is the only one worth coaching.
Showing people their own progress cuts dropout by 20% across 58 studies (De Jong et al., 2021). Pausa is that structure, and you don't have to hold it.
Pausa doesn't coach your clients for you. It handles the parts you shouldn't have to carry between sessions: the follow-up, the venting, and the moment someone starts repeating last month's excuse. The deeper work stays with you, and your clients arrive at it further along.
A 2026 study found AI assistants agree with people about 50% more than another person would. Pausa is built the opposite way on purpose, and it's the part users write in about.
Most apps tell you what you want to hear. This one tells you what you keep repeating.App Store review · ★★★★★
Having a space that gives honest feedback transformed my journaling from just recording thoughts into a way of thinking through difficult situations. Pausa helped me be more direct and take the emotion out of problems that don’t necessarily need it.App Store review · ★★★★★
A twelve-person founders' gathering in Ibiza runs its post-retreat follow-through on Pausa. Same leak, bigger stakes.
FAQ
No. Pausa covers the days between sessions, when your client has no direct support. It doesn't run programmes, set goals for your client or deliver coaching. It keeps them reflecting honestly so your sessions start further ahead.
No. Your client's entries are private to them. They can choose to forward their weekly recap to you, and once at least 5 of your clients are on Pausa, you can request your cohort's activity (numbers only: how many kept reflecting, how many went quiet). We never share data about a named client or anything anyone wrote, and we don't share cohort numbers below 5 clients, because a smaller group could identify a person.
No. Pausa is a journal that reflects patterns back. It isn't a clinical tool and doesn't replace professional care.
Pausa is free to start, and Premium is $9.99/month or $39.99/year through the App Store. Coaches who partner with us get an arrangement for their clients. Apply below and we'll walk you through it.
Yes. Once 5 of your clients have signed up through your link, your own Pausa Premium is free for two months, and you can request your cohort's activity. No commissions, because we don't pay for referrals into personal conversations.

Close to none. There's no setup and nothing to manage. You share a link with your clients, and they start on their own.

Hi, I'm Vicky, co-founder at Pausa. I'm a practitioner too, so I know this gap from your side of the session. Start with three clients if you want to see it working first. Once 5 of your clients are on Pausa, your own Premium is on us for two months, and you can request your cohort's activity. Tell me a bit about your practice and I'll write back personally to set you up and explain how the partnership works. If you'd rather just write, email me at vicky@pausa.co.

Who's behind it
Vicky Colombato, CEO & co-founder, Pausa. Former product lead at Mercado Libre and MURAL. Certified RTT hypnotherapist, Reiki master and somatic practitioner. I work with my own clients too, so I know the week between sessions from your side: the insight that lands in the room and fades by the end of the week. I built this because I had every item on the wellness list and none of it touched the thing underneath.
