When you use Pausa, we collect the following types of information:
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
Your journal entries are stored securely in our database. We do not read, share, or use your personal entries for any purpose other than providing the Pausa service to you.
We collect anonymized, aggregated usage data to improve the app experience. This data cannot be traced back to individual users or their journal content.

Pausa uses OpenAI's API to power AI features such as recaps, insights, and coaching. Your journal data is sent to OpenAI solely for the purpose of generating these features. OpenAI does not use data submitted through our API to train their models or improve their services.
Your data is hosted on Microsoft Azure and stored in MongoDB. Entries are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections and stored on Azure's secured infrastructure. For more details, see our Security Manifesto.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We will only disclose your information if required by law, and even in such cases, we prioritize your privacy.
